Hi,i'm getting a SB5000TL installed soon and would like to log data from it from a PC.This device comes standard with bluetooth communications.I've never used bluetooth before so i'm wondering if anyone has used this interface to log data to their PC? TIA, Dat I havn't used BT very much for this purpose, but once your BT is paired, you machine should just be able to create a serial communication with it over a COM port (I'd assume) and then just pull the data down.
You need to get SDC v4 to use it via Bluetooth, as SDC v3.9.3 doesn't know about BT (although you could probably use the BT com ports).
I found v4 in the archive download area from your post at energy matters.
SDC says bluetooth is being used by another program, there is another hurdle.
I would like any more info on bluetooth to the computer also. is blue tooth the way to go when connecting this up to a PC? Can you point me to a thread where there is a step by step process for connecting up an 1100?? No but you should be able to use the SMA bluetooth piggyback on this inverter. It wont give you data logging unless you run a PC nearby to capture the data. I'm not that keen to get it – i just thought if it was built in that'd be cool :)My inverter is actually not working – no LEDs, LCD blank..
It certainly goes on the SB1100, so should work on your machine. so i'm waiting for BP Solar to come out and check it :( I have a 5000TL as well, and am monitoring it via rs485 with Sunny Data Control (SDC) and then importing that in to a mysql db.
SDC is the only thing I found (other than YASDI) that would automatically export to a file automatically.
Sunny Explorer works, but you need to manually export the data to a text file.
au/en_AU/products/I got a 5$ bluetooth dongle from ebay and it cant find my sb4000tl inverter, so have not used it so far, have not tried to move it closer ect.
I have a sunny beam that connects with it to show me what is going on. got mine free so not sure if i would pay the 6-800 for it, i always would have liked one but was not going to buy one as i want to save money not spend more.
You also need to change a setting on the inverter under the panel to connect with the sunny beam, not sure about other methods.
The manuals have this info somewhere, you need to change the channel from 1 by turning a knob.
